Our boys this winter. Ethan turned 10 and is letting his hair grow. It is driving me crazy but he loves it. Ryan loves taekwondo. He got 3 stripes and is prepping to test for his orange belt. I am sure that him and Ethan will get their belts no problem.
Even though we are going to Cincinnati this Christmas I thought that I should bring some Christmas spirit into the house. It was hard to do but I did it for the boys. I gave away my old Christmas tree last year so on black Friday I bought this little tree at Target. I finally found our stockings that I had bought at Disney World last year. I had to include the Christmas Elf (Brett's favorite). He watches over us at Christmas time. Honestly, I can not wait to get back from Cincinnati so that I can take it down. yay for 2010, My husband comes home this year!
While we were in LA we got to visit the Santa Train. It was really neat because we got to tour the inside. There was an old train set up and Santa was there. The train was very pretty and the boys loved it and always looked forward to the Santa Train every year.
December 2004 was a great Christmas at Ft. Polk. I believe that everyone got exactly what they wanted. Christopher was very into paintball that year and he got it all. Ryan was 3 and Ethan was 4.
Ryan was a scary pirate and Ethan was a crazy person from a mental hospital this year for halloween. I let them go kind of scary this year. They always want to be scary but I never let them until now. We had a lot of fun this Halloween. We went to a pumpkin patch called Munson Farms and trick or treating in Aggieville and then on Halloween night we went to Sonic with friends and then trick or treating around our neighborhood. We had a lot of fun! We missed Brett though!
This was Brett's first time at a pumpkin patch in Kansas. He was deployed the year before and the boys and I could not wait to take him to one. We had a great day. The weather was beautiful. It was so nice and wonderful to be together again!
Dear Lord,
Give me the greatness of heart to see the difference between duty and his love for me. Give me understanding that I may know, when duty calls him he must go. Give me a task to do each day, to fill the time when he's away. And Lord, when he's in a foreign land, keep him safe in your loving hand. And Lord, when duty is in the field, please protect him and be his shield. And Lord, when deployment is so long, please stay with me and keep me strong. Amen.
